As women, our health and wellbeing are fundamental to our ability to get the most out of our increasingly busy lives. Fusion® Health understands how important this is to us all and offers a balanced way for women to put their health first .
The real meaning of being a healthy woman
The way Fusion® Health sees it, a healthy woman is one who cultivates the energy to handle everything she wants and needs to do, is resilient and has reserves of energy to draw on during times of stress and change.
She nurtures a predominantly upbeat, confident demeanour, a sharp mind, a delicious sense of humour, and enjoys relationships that inspire her mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
She strives to be strong, rarely gets sick and feels comfortable in her own skin.
This is health at its most holistic, and it shows. A healthy woman has a radiant glow about her, her eyes are clear and bright, her complexion is fresh and her body is just the right shape and weight for her frame.
What's the secret to attaining a sense of health and vitality in your own life?
The answer is as simple as it is elusive: balance.
It's a concept women often talk and think about. Yet despite juggling the competing demands of family, work and relationships while simultaneously finding time to eat well, exercise regularly and get a good nights sleep, few of us manage to experience it consistently.
Achieving a state of balance is also the goal that underpins traditional Chinese medicine. According to this deep, ancient philosophy, balance is the fundamental basis of good health, enabling your body and mind to function at their best, ensuring you are able to comfortably adapt and respond to the opportunities and challenges life brings.
Balance is more than a juggling act
Many women view balance as an ideal to be strived for in the hope that one day they will be able to manage everything on their plates. However, in the traditional Chinese context, being in balance means that all parts of your body, mind and spirit are nourished and functioning as they should –both individually and in relationship to each other –and that you are in harmony with the world around you.

Introducing the principles of ancient Chinese wisdom to your health
The Chinese philosophy of how the human body works and what causes ill health are quite different to scientific interpretation. Despite its nuances and complexities, the focus of Chinese medicine is always on restoring balance and harmony. Central to the Chinese system of medicine is the concept of Qi–pronounced "chee".
Qi is the vital energy or life force that flows through the human body, and one that we use on a daily basis. Qi constantly moves around the body along channels or pathways called meridians, which interconnect different organ systems and tissues.
Health problems can develop if the flow of Qi becomes unbalanced or impeded. Because of this, restoring the flow of Qi and the appropriate energetics to the body is vital in allowing your body to heal. Confusingly, the names applied to the organ systems in Chinese medicine don't quite correlate with our understanding of biology, or the functions attributed to them. For example, science describes the kidneys largely from the point of view of controlling the bodys fluid balance. But in the traditional Chinese view, the kidney organ-meridian system is seen as the energetic foundation of good health and optimal vitality. It governs not just the kidneys themselves, but the adrenal glands, ovaries, brain and many other physical structures, as well as a wide variety of functions, from reproduction, growth and development, to willpower.
It is also the reservoir for the inherited Qi that we are born with, called Jing (also sometimes referred to as kidney energy), which becomes progressively depleted with age.
